How to buy
Paying Rindo.
Payments follow the purchase: a deposit for auction bidding, the vehicle balance after a win or approval, then freight and loading. This page explains how each is paid, what to quote, how we confirm receipt and how to check an instruction is genuine.

Accepted methods
How you pay depends on what you are paying for. Each invoice states the methods that apply to it.
Auction deposit
Paid once the amount and terms have been given to you in writing.
To be confirmed. We will confirm this with you before you make any payment.
Vehicle balance, freight and loading
Paid against the purchase invoice and, later, the separate freight and loading invoice.
To be confirmed. We will confirm this with you before you make any payment.
Currencies, limits and timing
Only confirmed arrangements are published here. Anything not yet confirmed says so.

- Reference to quote

- Refund route
- Refunds are returned to the account the payment came from, unless we agree otherwise with you in writing.
Sending funds and account activation
Sending a deposit and having your auction access activated are two separate things. Complete listings and bidding open in Rindo Portal once the deposit has arrived and cleared and we have matched it to your account, not at the moment you send it. Clearing takes as long as your bank and the method need; we confirm to you as soon as it is done.
Plan for this before an auction you want to bid in. If a sale is close, tell us when you have sent the deposit so we can look out for it.
References and confirmation
Each invoice states the reference to quote. Quoting it exactly lets us match your payment to your purchase without delay. We confirm every payment once it has arrived and cleared, and the confirmation says what it has been applied to.
Refunds
If no vehicle is purchased, the auction deposit is refundable on the terms you were given before you paid. Ask us in writing and we will confirm the route and what to expect. A refund is not a way to cancel a purchase: once a bid you authorised wins, or you approve a purchase, the deposit is applied to the car.
Check before you pay
Payment fraud against car importers usually works by substituting bank details in an email that otherwise looks right. Protect yourself with two habits:
- Verify by a second channel. Before sending any payment, confirm the account details with Rindo by a different route from the one the instruction arrived by: if the details came by email, confirm them by phone or through Rindo Portal, using contact details you already hold rather than ones in the message.
- Treat changed details as a warning. If you are told our bank details have changed, stop and verify by a second channel before paying. We will never pressure you to pay urgently to new details.
Keep every invoice and confirmation. You will need them for customs and registration at your destination, and they are your record of what was paid and when.
Not sure what a payment is for? Understanding Costs explains every component and when each one is due.
Ask before you send.
If anything about an invoice, a reference or a bank detail is unclear, contact us first. A short check is always worth it.
