Find a car · Dedicated car sourcing

Some cars take a different kind of search.

Tell us what you’re looking for. Rindo can search for the right opportunity, investigate the details and negotiate with sellers on your behalf.

Who this service suits

Stock listings and weekly auctions cover most cars. Dedicated sourcing is for the ones that rarely appear, or that deserve a closer look before anyone bids.

Rare

Limited editions, low production numbers and final-series cars that come up a few times a year, if that, and go quickly when they do.

Classic

Older Japanese and European cars where originality, provenance and the condition beneath the paint matter more than the headline price.

Collectible

Cars bought to keep: specific colours, specifications or histories, often held by private owners or specialist dealers rather than listed openly.

Unusual

Japan-only models, special-order specifications and vehicles that need a particular import route or conversion at the destination.

How a dedicated search works

Six stages. You approve the scope before we start and approve the purchase before anything is bought.

  1. 1

    Your brief

    You handle

You tell us the car, the essential specification and condition, your budget and how flexible you are. A listing link is a good start if you have one.

  2. 2

    Search scope and terms agreed

    Shared

We confirm what we will search, where, for how long and on what terms, in writing, before the search begins. You know the arrangement before anything starts.

  3. 3

    Candidates identified and assessed

    Rindo handles

We approach auctions, dealers, specialists and private sellers across Japan. Each candidate comes to you with translated condition information, photographs and our honest notes.

  4. 4

    Investigation

    Rindo handles

For a car worth pursuing we dig into the details: history, originality, previous repairs and an additional inspection where it adds real information.

    • What was checked and what could not be checked is always stated.
  5. 5

    Negotiation and purchase approval

    Shared

We negotiate with the seller on your behalf, or agree your written maximum bid for an auction lot. The car is bought only when you approve the price.

  6. 6

    Shipping and import support

    Rindo handles

Purchase, collection, export preparation and shipping follow the standard buying process, with the destination stages explained for your country.

Finding a car is not a guarantee of it

Locating a car tells you it exists and is for sale. It does not guarantee its condition, originality or suitability for your destination. That is what the assessment and investigation stages are for, and we tell you plainly what was and was not possible to check so you can decide with the evidence in front of you. Our checks and inspections page explains the limits.

Tell us what you’re looking for

The more specific the brief, the better the shortlist. Separate what the car must have from what you would prefer, so we do not pass over a good car for the wrong reason, and tell us whether your budget is for the car alone or delivered to your port.

Not sure what to specify? Start with the vehicle buying guides, or speak to Rindo first.

Include the country code if you would like a call back.

Tell us in the next field whether this is for the car alone or the total delivered cost.
